Our Success Stories - difficult transactions financed by Hanleigh Lodge

Scenario 1:

Business start up
New equipment being privately imported from China.
Loan amount of $320,000
Trade Finance facility required.

Client has an existing business and Hanleigh Lodge used the trading history of this to support the new borrowing.

“I had to liaise with the Chinese supplier to ensure the correct information was obtained so that the importation of the equipment happened as planned. I also referred our client to a reputable customs agent who understood the requirements of the finance company.”

Scenario 2:

Client has a prime mover and car trailer stolen. Only twenty months earlier our client had sold a business along with the van he used. After a short break he obtained a contract with a major transport company to cart new motor vehicles interstate.

We only had one complete years’ trading history for the current business and were being asked to arrange finance totalling $380,000 for a new truck and seven car trailers.

We split the transaction using two finance companies. We provided each lender with a full analysis of the financial statements, details of the current contract and evidence of the insurance claim to obtain a suitable approval on both units.

Scenario 3:

Client had worked as the general manager of a business for 10 years. The owner was selling up so our client was presented with the opportunity to purchase a business he knew very well. Our client’s accountant sought approval from a local bank but they could not offer the level of funding that was needed to secure the purchase.

"The client was referred to me by the vendor as I had financed a number of machines for him over many years. Using my knowledge and understanding of this business I put together a finance package that included a home loan, investment property loans, a business loan and a chattel mortgage facility over various machines. This was our client’s first time as a business owner but I was able to get the support of a bank which offered the funding required."

Our client has since relocated the business into larger premises and substantially increased its turnover and profits.

The key to the success of this transaction was to maximise the borrowing against the used capital equipment that formed part of the purchase of the business.

What our clients say:

"Graham is a no-nonsense person who achieves excellent results, over the years this has translated into many happy customers who appreciate his timely help and use of non-financial terminology to ensure everyone understands the process and gets the desired outcome. We are happy to recommend Graham & continue to enjoy his professional, friendly and timely service."

Louise Trimble – American Vehicle Sales, General Manager

"When trying to secure funding for a new business, we were told no by the major banks. Not only did Graham secure the required finance, he structured the loan in a way that maximized our borrowing potential. Graham is solely responsible for our success story for almost 10 years! Cheers!"
